Internal Medicine
The health and well-being of your pet companion is our top priority. Our goal is to ensure professional, competent and animal-friendly treatment and prevention that is always up to the latest standards. To ensure that your animal is always healthy and medically well cared for, we offer regular health checks as well as early detection diagnostics to give you a complete health picture. We also offer a wide range of specialists. In addition to in-house specialists, we work very closely with external specialists, who each carry out their examinations in our clinic.
Internal medicine is concerned with the diagnosis, management and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the various internal organ systems. These range from problems of the gastrointestinal tract (gastroenterology), hormonal diseases (endocrinology), kidney diseases (nephrology) and more to more complex events that affect several organ systems at the same time. Therefore, thorough processing is often necessary in order to be able to make the right choice of treatment. Thanks to our modern equipment with an in-house laboratory, various imaging methods and specialist staff, we are able to optimally treat your animal.
The most common internal medical conditions in dogs involve the digestive, urinary, and respiratory systems. Gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhea and vomiting are among the most common symptoms. Older dogs in particular are often affected by chronic kidney diseases, which lead to increased water intake and frequent urination.
In addition to these diseases, dogs also experience hormonal disorders. The most common endocrinological diseases include diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism and adrenal function disorders such as Cushing's syndrome (hyperfunction of the adrenal glands) or Addison's disease (hypofunction of the adrenal glands). These diseases require targeted diagnosis and treatment to ensure the well-being of the dog.
Our internal medicine specialists specialize in identifying even the subtle signs of pain and discomfort in dogs. With modern diagnostics and comprehensive therapy, we ensure that your dog is optimally cared for and feels comfortable.

The most common internal medical conditions in cats involve the digestive, urinary, and respiratory systems. Cats are particularly likely to suffer from chronic kidney diseases. Since symptoms only become visible at an advanced stage (at around 75% loss of kidney function), a regular examination of your cat is crucial to identify diseases at an early stage.
Endocrinological diseases are also common in cats. The most common hormonal disorders include diabetes mellitus and hyperthyroidism. Early diagnosis of these conditions is important to ensure timely and effective treatment.
Our internal medicine specialists have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating cats. Using the latest methods, we help you identify your cat's health problems at an early stage and treat them in a targeted manner in order to ensure their well-being in the long term.
Ferrets are active, curious and relatively robust pets that have recently been kept more and more. Even though they are relatively robust, they too are not spared from health challenges. The most common diseases primarily affect the gastrointestinal tract and hormonal organs. Respiratory tract diseases, on the other hand, are very rare.
Endocrinological diseases play a particularly important role in ferrets. Adrenal disorders, in which the adrenal glands develop hyperfunction due to tumors, are very common. These tumors often result in an excess of hormones, which can result in clinical symptoms such as hair loss and behavioral changes. A reliable diagnosis is usually made using ultrasound scans, which can confirm the presence of tumors in the adrenal glands.
Another common problem in ferrets is insulinoma, a pancreatic tumor that results in an overproduction of insulin. This condition can cause life-threatening low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), which results in weakness, tremors and, in severe cases, seizures. Early diagnosis and treatment is critical to save the ferret's life.
In our modern clinic, we offer ultrasound examinations and laboratory diagnostic tests to identify and treat these common diseases quickly and specifically. Our trained staff is also well trained in handling ferrets.

Frequently asked questions
